6-hourly China Surface Observations Loop : showing area of duststorm observations (cyan colored) in Mongolia at 04/06Z.
8-day loop of NOAA/NESDIS Optical Depth : showing general increase in optical depths ( > 0.3 over much of the Pacific) due to this outbreak and the preceeding one.

Dynamical Forcing:

6-hourly NOGAPS China Loop : 03/06Z - 05/06Z, very broad 500 mb trough (upper-left) with short wave travelling down back side, leads to high winds near 40-45N, 100-110E and friction velocities in excess of the threshold (red shading in lower-right).
