Current
Conditions:
11Z satellite shows clear conditions over the AOI with some scattered clouds over western Saudi Arabia.

At 06Z, dust and haze is reported in the SOH and northern UAE. Haze also reported in the TEV.

Todays dust enhancement shows the dust reported in the surface observations. The next satellite pass at 1330Z shows this area around the SOH to be much clearer.

Raobs at Abu Dhabi (right) show higher humidity at the surface, but values aloft are low. Muscat (right) shows low humidity throughout the whole column.

Synoptic Discussion
500mb ridge remains over the AOI, with a trough moving in from the west on the 6th. Light winds over most of the AOI and light and variable winds in the Sistan Basin, stronger on the 6th-8th.
Mesoscale Discussion:
Northwesterly winds at the UAE coast, local lifting in western UAE.

Weaker winds continue over the UAE and Oman. Some local lifting is possible. Strong winds in the TEV.

Northerly winds at the UAE and Oman coast, lifting in Oman. Strong winds in the Sistan Basin.

DUST FORECAST:
Locally produced dust is possible along the coastlines of the UAE and Oman. No long-range transported dust until the 7th.

Abu Dhabi and Muscat may have some locally produced dust each day. On the 7th, dust from the Sistan Basin reaches Muscat.

Summary: Dust over the AOI will be mostly due to local processes on the 5th.
