Meteorological Decision Aids (Code 7543)

The Meteorological Decision Aids Section assesses the effect of the environment on Navy/Marine Corps weapons and sensor systems and develops tactical environmental products that support military decision makers and strategic planners.

The Meteorological Decision Aids Section is working in these main areas:

Atmospheric Effects on Weapons/Sensors/Platforms. Identify/evaluate and develop scientific basis for environmental effects. Relate numerical model output to weapon systems support. Develop environmental tools for the DoD Modeling and Simulation activities. Command and Control/Tactical Decision Aids Validation. Ashore/afloat environmental effects tools. Strike warfare support. Automated Topical Cyclone Forecast System. Tropical cyclone/Severe Weather Port Studies.
