Moving to a New Anchorage
- Vessels anchored in Bay of Durrës are affected mostly by winds from southwest through west, which commonly occur during winter. The worst seas may reach 13.1 ft (4 m) in the anchorage in a severe case, and seas in exposed waters west of the anchorage may reach 19.7 ft (6 m). When the winds cause the anchorage to become untenable, ships are advised to move to a better-protected anchorage in the Bay of Rodonit, approximately 15 nmi north of Durrës. The anchorage in the Bay of Rodonit is deep enough to accommodate deep-draft vessels.
