Currents and Tides
- There are no significant currents in the Bay of Palma and tides are
negligible. There is no astronomical tide but a barometric tide exists,
with a variation of 6 to 8 inches. High pressure results in a lowering
of the water level, while low pressure raises it.
- According to the local oceanographic office, an automated wave bouy
was lost in 1989 and there are no plans for a replacement.
